Dr. Fischer is available to review the work of other professionals including psychological evaluations for family and criminal court, custody evaluations, assessments of competence to stand trial, and criminal responsibility. This involves a review of the report, test data, collateral information, and other sources of information utilized by the professional. After completing a review, Dr. Fischer will consult with the attorney and confer regarding next steps.
Expert Report
In some cases, it may be helpful to provide a written critique to the court of the work product and/or be available to testify as an expert. In this case, Dr. Fischer is obligated to provide an objective assessment, including both the strengths and weaknesses of the work reviewed.
Consultant/Case Strategist
In other cases, it may be more beneficial for Dr. Fischer to serve as a consultant to the attorney without providing a report to the court. This may involve providing reference materials for the attorney to review, providing written feedback to an attorney, suggesting cross-examination questions, reviewing the credentials of opposing experts, and otherwise supporting the litigation. Dr. Fischer can be available to be present at trial and provide suggestions for cross examination based on witness testimony.
